Sanctum 05:02 video
Through simple measures pursued Took no time to conclude These feelings in me are new Kind of hope for you too You already knew Thoughts could not exclude To what I won't allude As if I breathe anew Held in highest of view You hold my gratitude Found this sanctum in… Found this sanctum in you In the way you do And the precious truth Of the way you move Found this sanctum in you Found this sanctum in you Though my language be crude And context is subdued You put me in a mood The reasons to pursue You know they do include This is more than due Found this sanctum in… Found this sanctum in you In the way you do And the precious truth Of the way you move Found this sanctum in you Found this sanctum in you

Scarce inhibition A touch of restraint All past decision Are little but faint To kiss the nape And misted brow To whisper none And know somehow These rhythmic notions And then exchange A loss of self Can be arranged An honest omission And then exchange These rhythmic notions Can be arranged A lock of hair A scented pit An open heart It does transmit Through knowing look And heavy breath A heightened moment Becomes a death These rhythmic notions And then exchange A loss of self Can be arranged An honest omission And then exchange These rhythmic notions Can be arranged These rhythmic notions Without a word Tell me you love me As time it blurs These rhythmic notions And then exchange A loss of self Can be arranged An honest omission And then exchange These rhythmic notions Can be arranged These rhythmic notions

Simple 02:57
Shouldn't stress, Take time to rest Try walk the line Good comes with time It's fine advice Put in to plan All well and nice For those who can It's just never been that simple Or that easy Not in my life Not for me Sit well and still Hold back until The time is right Though chance it might Have other plans Take other means Where others can For me at least It's just never been that simple Or that easy Not in my life Not for me

If thoughts were a sin it's too late If sin is in your heart don't hesitate This affection surely makes no mistake And it's you that I've begun to appreciate If thoughts were a sin I confess Some less than pure thoughts I could express This desire putting us to the test The point of no return is beginning to stress cause If thoughts were a sin it's too late If thoughts were a sin it's too late If thoughts were a sin it's too late And if you gave in I'd reciprocate If thoughts were a sin it's too late Infatuation don't deliberate From beginnings that have showed no restraint To endings so deep they alleviate If thoughts were a sin I confess I like the thought of you in an state of undress In the mood for what's about to progress Just a glimpse or a touch oh it does impress If thoughts were a sin it's too late If thoughts were a sin it's too late If thoughts were a sin it's too late And if you gave in I'd reciprocate

Nothing ever matters And true love is a lie You'll only get more scattered baby Til the day you die No such thing as a soul We're little more than matter Nothing truly coincides No destiny or pattern This is my… This is my warning sign And you were here right on time Faith has lost its moment No longer justified But when our hands do touch now baby These atoms do collide Setting light to the dark Bringing warmth to the cold For once in more than I have known I'm ready to be told This is my… This is my warning sign And you were here right on time This is my warning sign And you were here right on time

For a Friend 04:51
How long does it take for what's broken to mend Is it a circumstance I can comprehend As conclusions I reach seem to all offend I'm asking for a… Message still unread do another I send I'm asking for a… I'm asking for a friend I'm asking for a friend I'm asking for a friend Is there an out you can recommend What's a grain of truth in a sea of pretend? When the reasons arise will I be at wits end? I'm asking for a… Message still unread do another I send? I'm asking for a... I'm asking for a friend I'm asking for a friend I'm asking for a friend

Too little, too late, I made a mistake In trusting fate Too little, too late, I made a mistake What's more, with time, I'll make it again You can depend What's more, I'll make it again Too little, too late, I made a mistake In trusting me Too little, too late, I made a mistake What's more, with time, I'll make it again With no defense What's more, I'll make it again Too little, too late, I made a mistake In trusting you Too little, too late, I made a mistake What's more, with time, I'll make it again I wont intend What's more, I'll make it again Too little, too late, I made a mistake In trusting fate Too little, too late, I made a mistake What's more, with time, I'll make it again My closest friend What's more, lets make it again Lets make it again

Life was once set and I had lost the bet Taking no time in conversation Months were a blur all I failed to learn Biding my time without direction Till now all taste was bland The years they fell through my hands Could you be my one contradiction Now, that you're in the scene As I'd never foreseen Could you be my one contradiction Once I was afraid keeping hidden most days Taking my time inconsequential While Sun still it rose I've had plenty of those Months where it felt no way sequential Till now all taste was bland The years they fell through my hands Could you be my one contradiction Now that you're in the scene as I'd never foreseen Could you be my one contradiction Gone from nothing at all as I've never known before Could you be my one contradiction Now, that you're in the scene as I'd never foreseen, Thank you my one contradiction

Flawed 05:20
Best not talk about it It's always been this way Try not use too much wit Tomorrow is a school day There's a chance I could miss Too easily led astray Had my doubts about it They might never go away I'm floored by your inability to reason I'm floored by your lack of control What's more Used to think of you as perfect It’s just as well I'm flawed Cooled infatuation Offers truth a chance Took contemplation A touch of happenstance With gratitude eternal A deeper sense of self A presence once nocturnal A book returned to shelf A hard pill to swallow A soft touch to share A tough act to follow Becoming self-aware

about

InfraGhosts is the solo synthpop/multimedia project of Naarm/Melbourne queer and trans woman Laura Davis. After a decade as a stalwart of the local live music scene, Laura now shares the results of her committed studio practice in the ten-track album Body Heat.

The album was written, recorded and self-produced in Laura's home studio comprised entirely of secondhand and painstakingly repaired electronics.

InfraGhosts celebrates Body Heat with a launch party on Friday November 17th with Hearts and Rockets, Time Rich, James Seedy + Don Gray.
